Your data, explained

Privacy policy

This policy explains what information bloops collects, why we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you.

Effective date: 30 July 2026

1. Introduction

bloops is operated by Unserious Labs Ltd ("Company", "we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and respecting your privacy.

This Privacy Policy applies when you use the bloops mobile app, bloops.io, and related services (together, the "Service"). If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account and profile information

When you create an account using Apple or Google, we receive account identifiers and may receive your name and email address, depending on the information you choose to share. We also collect your username, profile image, and account creation and update times.

2.2 Content and activity

We collect information you create or provide through bloops, including:

  • prompts, builder conversations, requirements, and feedback used to create or edit bloops;
  • images, audio, and other files you upload;
  • generated bloops, titles, descriptions, tags, cover images, and publishing choices;
  • comments and other material you choose to publish;
  • saves, likes, reports, blocks, and other interactions with content and users; and
  • information and files you enter into interactive bloops that use bloops storage features.

2.3 Device and technical information

We may collect device and app information needed to operate and secure the Service, including push-notification tokens, login and authentication records, IP address and server request information, error information, and basic usage or content-interaction data.

If you grant permission, the app may access your camera, microphone, or photo library so you can capture or upload content and save files. You can change these permissions in your device settings.

2.4 Purchase and subscription information

If you buy a subscription, credits, or another paid feature, Apple processes the payment through the App Store. We may receive transaction identifiers, the product purchased, subscription status and renewal or expiry dates, storefront or region, and refund or cancellation status. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.

3. How we use information

We use collected information to:

  • create, authenticate, and manage accounts;
  • provide, personalise, maintain, and secure the Service;
  • process prompts and media to generate, edit, host, and publish bloops;
  • deliver comments, saves, notifications, and social features;
  • validate purchases, provide paid features, manage entitlements, prevent payment fraud, and help resolve billing issues;
  • operate reporting, blocking, safety, and moderation tools;
  • diagnose problems and improve features and performance;
  • communicate service, policy, and account information;
  • enforce our Terms of Service; and
  • comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and protect users, the public, and our rights.

4. Artificial intelligence processing

bloops uses artificial intelligence services to understand your requests and help generate text, images, code, interactive experiences, and transcriptions. Information you submit for these features—including prompts, conversations, uploaded media, generated content, and audio used for transcription—may be sent to AI service providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic.

Please do not include sensitive personal information in prompts, uploads, or bloops unless it is necessary and you are comfortable with that information being processed to provide the feature.

5. When we share information

We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers. We use providers that support authentication, hosting, databases, storage, notifications, AI generation, transcription, payment processing, search, and external data features. These include Apple, Google and Google Cloud/Firebase, OpenAI, Anthropic, Exa, and API-Sports where the relevant feature is used. Apple processes App Store payments under its own terms and privacy policy.
  • Public and shared content. Your username, profile image, and content may be visible to others when you publish, comment, or share. Public bloops may appear in the app, on bloops.io, and in the public app index. Unlisted bloops may be viewed by anyone with the link.
  • Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, investigate misuse, enforce our terms, or protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Business transfers. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
  • With your direction or consent. We may share information when you ask us to or otherwise consent.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Legal bases for processing

Where UK or European data-protection law applies, we process personal information under one or more of these legal bases:

  • Contract: processing needed to provide the Service you request;
  • Legitimate interests: operating, securing, and improving bloops, where those interests are not overridden by your rights;
  • Consent: where we ask for permission, including certain device permissions; and
  • Legal obligation: complying with applicable law and lawful requests.

7. International data transfers

We and our service providers may process information in the United Kingdom, United States, and other countries. Where required, we rely on recognised safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections.

8. How we protect information

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no online service, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for keeping access to your account and device secure.

9. Data retention and account deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain safety records, and protect the integrity of public or shared content.

You can request account deletion from the Settings page in the app. Deleting your account removes your authentication account and active profile. Some information may remain where necessary for security, moderation, legal compliance, backups, or the continued operation of content you previously made public or shared. Where appropriate, we may retain that content with limited account information rather than delete it immediately.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; restrict or object to processing; and withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.

You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or your local data-protection authority. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

11. Children's privacy

bloops is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information contrary to this policy, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the Service, our practices, or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy here and change the effective date. Where appropriate, we will provide additional notice in the app or through another channel.
